Always on the lookout for old Mazda's, I was told about a yellow series 4 Capella sitting in a paddock just outside Canberra. A short drive later and I had found it. After speaking to the owner and finding out the history of the car, I walked down the paddock for a look and was pleasantly surprised. The car only has 20k on the speedo and I believe that it's only been around once (ie, 120,000km's). The car had been a one owner vehicle until the elderly gent traded it on something newer. The owners I bought if off purchased the car for their sons to learn to drive on. Once the car ran out of rego, it was then used as a paddock car (paddock basher doesn't quite fit) for a short while until the youngest son ran into a strainer post and dented the bonnet etc. And so it sat until I found it.

It has a reco'd engine and apart from the visible dents, the body is in very good nick. Inside the door jambs, the car is perfect and the interior is very good too. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it, but for $100, I think it was well worth having. I guess the long term plans (very long term!) would be to restore it and run a supercharged 12a for something different. For the moment though, it resides quietly in the carport on my father's farm.
